Jennifer earned her Bachelor degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Jennifer has also completed extensive training and certification in Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Jennifer has over 12 years of counseling experience in a variety of settings including; private practice, community based services, substance abuse and residential facilities. Jennifer is highly effective working with young people as well as adults and enjoys engaging in the process of positive change with her patients. Jennifer uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Behavior Modification and Psychoeducation.
Jennifer works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and groups to assist in the following areas; self-esteem, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, attention deficit, conduct, anger management, stress management, depression, self-harming behaviors and peer/family relationships.
Jennifer believes that her patients have the ability to live an active and productive life on all levels. Jennifer is focused on providing a non-judgmental and empathic experience for her clients. She listens and helps to establish the specific achievable goals with her patients. Jennifer thrives on building trusting relationships with her patients. She believes that with supportive, directional therapy, all people can succeed and be effective in their daily life.
Jennifer is currently working towards her certifications as Board Certified Behavior Analysis and License Clinical Social Worker.
