Once therapy is initiated, a person may see their therapist as often as twice a week or as little as once a month. As each person is different so too are their therapeutic needs. Your therapist will work with you to develop a schedule that will optimize your time in therapy. Some issues can be resolved in as few as 3 sessions, while other issues may need and deserve a more long-term approach. You will talk with your therapist about your expectations for treatment during your first session. Most people attend weekly until their goals are attained.
For your first visit you are asked to come 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to begin completing intake paperwork OR complete the forms in advance by printing and completing the forms under the “Forms tab” at the top of this webpage.
PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS during your first visit:
- Insurance Card
- Driver’s License
- Payment for the session (we accept cash, check or credit).
**If you have a deductible and/or copay through insurance please bring this information with you. We also suggest you contact your insurance provider prior to scheduling your appointment to see if our office is in-network or out-of-network AND if you are required to get pre-authorized for behavioral health benefits.
For Child/Adolescent Patients:
We request that you do not bring your child to the first appointment so the proper consent forms can be completed and we can have a conversation about your concerns and goals for your child.
For Custody Cases:
Please bring a copy of your final custody agreement. Also note that we may ask that only one parent be present, per session, if we deem this most beneficial for the child/client.
